In the next couple of weeks we will be announcing the date of the Group AGM. It is likely to be sometime towards the end of June. Hopefully we will be having a fun family afternoon where you can come down and see the things that your children have been up to in the last year and to talk with us about the types of activities we are going to be planning for the next school year.
It is also the time for us to show you our financial position and to elect members of our Group Executive Committee. The committee meets about every 3 months and aims to make sure that the Scout Group has the facilities and resources needed to deliver good Scouting in the Group. This includes:
- the maintenance of the Group’s property and equipment
- the raising of funds and the administration of the Group’s finance
- the insurance of persons, property and equipment
- Group public occasions
- assisting with the recruitment of Leaders and other adult support
We always have places available for parents to help us out on the Group Exec and we would love to discuss your offers of help.
